About this site
Who runs it
Friends of Crown Center is an independent group of residents. It is not affiliated with Crown Center, Hallmark Cards, or the Kansas City Royals.
Why
Kansas City committed public money to a Royals ballpark at Crown Center without a public vote. This site puts the record, the location and the April measure in one place, so that a reader can check each claim against its source before the vote.
How claims are sourced
Every figure on this site links to where it comes from. doc is a primary document; ref is news or another published source; archive is a library or historical record; site is a business’s own website, used only for facts about that business. Facts were last verified .
Where the location page says “No announcement on the record,” it means we searched and found none by the date shown there. It is a statement about our search, not a prediction about the place.
